This is back home on the Tensaw River thats all the details i can give its a secret!
Going home to Pensacola our last trip before the oil hits
We went back home because there was a death in the family and Robert’s brother Tim took on his boat! We went out and enjoyed the gulf before the oil hit. We went to Peg Leg Pete’s by boat for a beer it was paradise!
canoeing in Louisiana
So excited Robert Suprised me with going canoeing on the river for our anniversary!!
Taledo Bend!
So when we first got to Fort Polk everyone was talking about this man-made reservoir. The army has a property at the lake you can rent cabins and boats at! So we rented a cabin for a whooping $80 for the whole weekend! Got to love those military perks! Then we relaxed and partied all weekend long! All of our friends came down with us! Pictures from this weekend ….well they just don’t exist except for this below! We had a lot of fun needless to say!!!! Phrase from this trip hot wing massacre! Lesson learned never try to make hot wings after drinking patron and beer. especially with no baking pans and only aluminum foil (it rips apart and the sauce goes everywhere) Just a helpful tip!
the things I see on a daily basis …… they are so slow I hate getting behind them on the way to work!
Got to love them humvees! Slow and all up in my way!!
Robert took this picture when he was down range at North Polk!
The home of Steel Magnolias!
So Robert and I traveled about an hour north of Fort Polk to a small cute town called Natchitoches! To everyone back home it is kind of like a small Fairhope. It had cute side walk shop such as cooking, hardware, gifts, clothes, and toys! The river is right next to it. Cute bridges and nice people! I love the town, but most of all I love the fact this is where Steel Magnolia’s was filmed!!
Yes the one and only! So we got to go to the house where most of the movie was filmed! You can tour and see all the rooms! My favorite the Shelby room!!!
It is a must see!! I can’t wait until my childhood friend Jenny and my mom come here! My mother could pass out! You can actually stay in the house it is now a bed and breakfast!
